Add Text and Shapes to an Image
Place multiline text and a rectangle or ellipse on a JPG, PNG, or WebP image, drag the overlay into position, and export the result.

Text overlay ideas
Add Text to Image is useful for captions, tutorial screenshots, sale graphics, quote cards, labels, thumbnails, and quick announcements. You can type multiple lines, choose a font, set fill and stroke colors, place a simple shape behind the words, and drag the overlay directly on the image.
Use high contrast between text and background. White text with a dark stroke is readable on many photos, while a partly opaque rectangle can separate a caption from a busy area. Keep captions short for mobile posts.
Layout and export tips
Leave breathing room around faces, logos, and important details. Crop first with the Image Cropper when the composition needs attention. For a separate outer frame, use Add Border to Image.
Export PNG when you want crisp text and JPG when a smaller photographic file is more important. Review the result at thumbnail size before publishing.
