Use JPG for an opaque photo, PNG for lossless rendered pixels and transparency, or WebP where your destination accepts it. Changing the extension of a file does not convert its contents.

Can this convert every image format?

No. Input support depends on the browser. RAW, layered project files, and some HEIC files need other software. Canvas export produces a still image and may discard metadata and color-profile information.
